ADE Expanded the Qub Musique platform’s reach from online and Mobile to Videotron’s X1-based Helix Platform.
ADE worked with Quebecor Media to enhance their existing design system to a 10-foot UI experience. We then built a new X1 application framework to this spec. This application also accounted for and could be utilized for additional applications which leverage the Multi-Tenant Quebecor CMS.
Despite the COVID pandemic, ADE worked closely with the Qub Musique and Quebecor Media teams to get an initial launch out within a short time frame.
We worked via a shared Slack and shared issue tracking systems to collaborate closely to launch on time and to our specifications.
Qubecor Media has built a scalable platform for creating new applications based on a multi-tenant CMS and using shared design systems.
In partnership with Quebecor Media, we created a new X1 application framework that could scale to future X1 app initiatives.
With this initiative, anticipating that this codebase would be the basis for multiple future X1 applications, we took care to build a platform that was scalable and performant.
Achieving this goal meant spending considerable time before launch creating a performant grid and "long lists" of content that would continue to perform with an unlimited number of assets.
ADE built this application by building a “bridge” library combining traditional React and Comcast/MetrologicalWebGL-based Lighting framework.
With this blend of the deep React Ecosystem with Lightning’s UI performance on low-powered devices, we achieved the best of both worlds, using React’s ecosystem for most of the codebase, but Lighting when UI performance was the goal.
For TVA+ we were able to create new Apple TV and Android TV applications which leveraged the “10-foot UI” design system we architected for the Qub Musique project.
These applications leveraged the same multi-tenant CMS that Qubecor Media used for Qub Musique but added new Android TV and Apple TV Applications for TVA+.
While Qub Musique and TVA+ utilized different technologies and targeted different platforms, we could still see how the systems we architected for Qub Musique could later scale to additional initiatives.
We teamed up with ADE at a point in our project where our development teams already had their hand full with web, mobile iOS and Android development. ADE was bringing the precise expertise to help us scale rapidly on multiple 10-foot platforms. The result was beyond our expectations! With limited impact on our core design and engineering teams, they managed to build high quality apps, aligned with our brand and the best practices of the platform. And we stayed within budget and our apps all went online on schedule.
