NPR One provides access to all of NPR's podcasts through your X1 service.
While it's primarily an audio streaming service we wanted to provide an experience that still felt like it was meant to live on the big screen in your living room. We leveraged NPR's depth of imagery and surfaced additional story content so user's could still have a visual experience while listening to NPR's compelling stories.

Sochi Olympics

Watch it all
Every Event Live
ADE partnered with Comcast and NBCU to stream every event in the Sochi Olympics live as it happened.
This application would allow users to "Favorite" events and would provide alerts via their X1 box to the users when customer's favorite sports were live.

A Sudden Development
Sochi Olympics
With Comcast's still new X1 app platform Comcast and NBCU had a new mechanism to provide accesss to the Sochi Olympics game to Comcast's subscribers. Limited to streaming only live content we were able to provide access to every event live as it occured.
To ensure that viewers knew when their favorite olympic events were being broadcast we set up a notification system within the platform allowing users to be alerted so they wouldn't miss their favorite winter sports.
Amazon Music

Collaboration
We Had 6 Weeks
When ADE was approached to build the Amazon Music X1 application we had six weeks to get it designed and developed in order to make a holiday season timeframe.
We had to heavily leveage our shared component systems in order to develop the application concurrently while design ran in parallel.
After a successful, and on-time, launch this design and codebase was extended to support the "Magic Remote" for LG's WebOS based TVs allowing it to be deployed on those Smart TV devices.

A Joint Effort
With a rapid development cycle we closed the loop quickly between teams. We worked on short, one week, sprints in order to quickly accommodate changes and feedback. Making effective use of our collaboration tools ensured everyone was aware of the current project status.
It helps to have a history
For this project, because of the fast turn-around we had to lean into a lot of "off-the-shelf" designs and code that we've amassed over the years.
This included an existing backend service we had developed for the Comcast platform to smooth access to the Comcast system.
